Why go in June
Swimmable seas, walkable old towns before peak
About Dalmatian Coast
The Dalmatian Coast strings together walled medieval cities, pine-covered islands and impossibly clear Adriatic water. Dubrovnik's limestone ramparts, Split's living Roman palace and the lavender island of Hvar all sit within an easy ferry hop of one another.
When to go
Aim for early summer or September. June brings warm seas and long days before the August peak, when prices spike and the old-town lanes turn shoulder-to-shoulder. You'll find calmer water for island-hopping boat tours and far easier seats on the Game of Thrones walking tours that wind through Dubrovnik.
What it costs indicative, varies by date
Things to do book tickets & tours
Walk Dubrovnik's city walls at opening time, explore Diocletian's Palace in Split, and ferry out to Hvar for its harbour bars and inland fields. Inland, the waterfalls of Krka National Park make a refreshing day trip, while a sea-kayak or speedboat tour reaches the quiet coves the coast road misses.
